Iraq'n'Roll and Jewish-Arabic Cross-Culture. With his band, The Kuwaitis, Dudu Tassa honors the music of his grandfather and great-uncle, who celebrated great success as the Al-Kuwaiti Brothers a few decades ago. Tassa sings in Arabic and Hebrew and reinterprets them by incorporating Iraqi, Middle Eastern, and Israeli rock music. His idiosyncratic, innovative style is also referred to as Iraq'n'Roll. Dudu Tassa is one of Israel's best-known singer-songwriters and an important figure in the country's rock scene.
